Biography
1913Born in Chicago.
1931Attends Chicago's National Academy of Art.
1937Enters the New Bauhaus in Chicago, directed by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy.
1940Works at School of Design Chicago as instructor in photography.
1968Married a Japanese pianist, Kiyoko Asai.
1971First trip to Japan, where Lerner begins to do color photography.
1977-92Photographs in Mexico, Japan, and Europe.
1997Died.
